Ituna continues to strengthen its international research network. A clear example of this is the research stay recently begun by Ituna researcher Nerea Urrutia at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). During the stay, she is examining topics related to fiscal federalism and fiscal governance.

Within this line of research, special attention is being paid to the Basque case, from a comparative and international perspective. The aim is to place research already developed on the Basque Country within an international context, also examining the experiences of other regions with fiscal autonomy and their own powers.

The research stay is therefore giving a boost to Ituna’s internationalisation strategy, and it offers an opportunity to connect its lines of research with international networks and debates. Moreover, the exchange of knowledge runs in both directions: international experience enriches the analysis of the Basque reality, while the knowledge generated at Ituna and the analysis of the Basque case are brought to international forums.

In this way, Ituna continues to establish itself as a space that combines research on the Basque Country with an international outlook, connecting local knowledge with international networks and bringing international experience into the analysis of the Basque case.
