About us

The Ituna Center for Basque Economic Agreement and Fiscal Federalism Studies was founded in 2007 through an agreement between the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), with the later incorporation of the Provincial Councils of Gipuzkoa and Álava. It is dedicated to the collection, analysis, and dissemination of information on the Economic Agreement, the Provincial Treasury, and fiscal federalism. It collaborates with various departments of the UPV/EHU and has two publicly accessible locations. Its database is a valuable resource for academic research and the study of the Basque tax system and fiscal decentralization.
